We arrived on the Victoria Clipper and chose this hotel because it was one of the few who provided a breakfast that was included in our package. We arrived in the middle of December and it just happened to snow that day which I hear is a rarity. We were able to schlep our suitcases on foot to the hotel from the dock. When we arrived around 11 am we were told our room wasn’t ready but he could put us on the 3rd floor instead of the 4th floor that we were assigned. We agreed because we had some exploring to do.
We walked into our room and what a surprise. We got a corner suite with 2 windows, over looking the Parliment buildings and a full kitchen. We were happy.
It appears that they had free parking but being we were on foot I cannot confirm that. Breakfast was pretty good and we were full.
Great experience. Walking distance to the inner harbor.
This little Inn is located right next to the Parliament buildings downtown Victoria. They call it “James Bay area” but it’s so close to the museum, wax museum and literally minutes from the downtown area of Government Street.
The Inn itself is older, but they were doing renovations while we were there including new furniture. The room we had on the 3rd floor was your typical room in a downtown city location, small with a queen size bed (not very comfy), chair, TV, mini fridge and single keurig coffee maker. I was a little disappointed not to have a kettle and tea as I don’t drink coffee but that’s just my preference.
The room was very clean, which the housekeeping staff should be very proud of themselves!! Thank you!!
The breakfast was more than just your typical continental breaky that included waffles, scrambled eggs, ham & tater tots. Nice variety and was very good!!
Our room overlooked the parking lot as our room was above the entrance to the Inn so no view, but nice to have a little balcony to get some fresh air.
I would recommend this Inn for the location. If you are going to be in and out touring the city, then stay here, if not, find something a little more luxurious as this is pretty basic 🙂
We also did a 2 hour walking food tour which was great to get some interesting history of the city and taste a variety of local restaurants/shops.
