Westin Bear Mountain Victoria

I regret to have not written my review before now but here it is, in all it’s glory. My daughter worked with the staff for four months planning a surprise one night stay in the PENTHOUSE suite and it was worth every minute of planning and every penny she spent.

Walking into the suite left me speechless! This suite is very well appointed and offers everything you need before you know you need it. It was very tastefully decorated, spacious and incredibly comfortable. The floor to ceiling windows were phenomenal. I truly cannot say enough about this suite, we had a hard time leaving when it came time to check out.

The staff were amazing before, during and after our stay. With the assistance of the resort staff, my daughter and her friends, my daughter planned and executed a ‘traditional family Christmas’ dinner for me. We comfortably cooked and hosted a full sit down dinner, for ten, in the dining room.

The surroundings are breathtaking and there is a lot to see if you wish to explore. Although we didn’t use it, there was also an outdoor skating rink and skates which your could borrow.

We enjoyed spending some time in the lobby bar, during happy hour, a lot of great options for food and beverages.

My daughter also surprised me with the gift of the two hour “Coast to Cloud” spa treatment at the Sante Spa, on the bottom floor of the resort. We enjoyed a glorious treatment for two in their Crystal Room

I doubt that we can ever top this visit but, I assure you, it won’t be our last visit!!

On first arrival the hotel appeared beautiful. Quiet setting and opportunity to relax. Check in was quick and Sarah informed us that we had received an upgrade. We were grateful for this but surprised at check out that when I checked the final billing we had been charged for the upgrade. The bill is not presented on checkout, but rather they ask if it could be emailed. I had asked for the printout as I needed to make sure all our meals had been charged for. Had I not asked for the bill I would have gotten a shock on checking it when I got home.

The room was spacious and well decorated. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable. It was soft and lumpy and the sheets were too short for the bed, this meant that every time I got into bed my feet touched the mattress. By far the most uncomfortable bed I have had to sleep in.
Housekeeping was different everyday. Some days the cups were replaced, other days they neatened the bathroom.
I like that they think green, however, would recommend only placing one set of towels in the room per person, we had towels for four people.

We ate most meals at the restaurants at the hotel. Service started off good but once the weekend arrived service all but disappeared. The server forgot to bring water after we ordered it with our coffee and food took awhile.

Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour

The Marriott Inner Harbour is a great place to stay for a Victoria vacation. Well situated near the heart of the City making it very easy to walk downtown Victoria. The hotel itself is very clean and modern with spacious rooms. Staff are very friendly and professional.

Very well located hotel for downtown activities and meetings. Room decor was very traditional — an odd contrast with the building exterior. Superlative breakfast team; attentive at the buffet and poured me a coffee to go. Ditto re: excellent front desk team. In-room coffee availability was appreciated, however I would have appreciated seeing some of the excellent local roasteries featured.
We stayed here for a Friday night/Saturday night week-end and will definitely stay here again on a future visit. The location is excellent – right near the inner harbour and close to the BC Museum and other attractions. We just reserved a basic room with one bed, but it was very spacious and well-appointed, including a desk, armchair, fridge, bathrobes, coffee-maker, safe, etc.. They have good rates for seniors so it was really excellent value, and the whole place was very pleasant. The underground parking lot is well-lit and easy to get to, and unlike some parking lots, the spots are a decent size and the price reasonable enough. The staff were all pleasant and helpful.

Regent Hotel Victoria

Great apartment, friendly helpful staff, walking distance to everything from shopping to wonderful restaurants and pubs. The waterfront view is excellent with Parliament buildings lit up at night and kayaks and float planes landing in the morning.

We stayed for 2 nights in a 1 bedroom suite on 5th floor overlooking the harbor. Very nice, spacious, clean and awesome views. Full kitchen if you need but we just used the coffee pot. Complementary breakfast is OK nothing special , basic cereals, breads, omellete and breakfast meat. Hotel is in walking distance to everything and very central. Staff were very helpful in recommendations of eating, shopping etc. We used underground parking which was very handy. Yes I would stay again

This is our second year in the hotel. Enjoyed it very much.. Will be returning next year. View is awesome. Close to all services. Always working on upgrades i.e new windows, new carpet. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.

Oak Bay Beach Hotel

the hotel facilities will blow you away—ocean views everywhere….imagine a hot mineral pool soak in the middle of winter with a view to die for…..eating in a posh, elegant dining room with the same views…..staff was impressive—our breakfast server remembered my order from the previous morning, room service was was perfect for our last night because we were just lazy ….our beautiful room came with a surprise kitchenette…..parking was free, as was the wifi—don’t see that in high-end hotels. Can’t wait to visit again.

This place is a gem. I’m from here but felt like I was on a tropical vacation sitting in that oceanfront mineral pool! Hotel amenities make this place worth every penny (except that a poolside glass of wine was whopping $15. Yikes). Great neighbourhood with lots of great restaurants and shops nearby.

Highly recommend. Luxury, relaxation and beauty.
Also: I went with a friend but noticed that the hotel and even mineral pool were family friendly. But at one point families were asked to “keep it down” due to noise disrupting massages nearby.Spent two nights at this lovely spot while attending a family wedding, and enjoyed every minute. With four adults, front desk staff appropriately suggested a suite and an adjoining room. Comfortable, roomy, quiet, opulent.
The reinvented hotel has everything you would expect, from cucumber water in the lobby, to mineral baths under the stars, to attentive and courteous staff members, to free underground parking. Meals at The Snug, and Kate’s were delicious.

Oak Bay is a cool location, too, with wonderful scenic walks or drives in the neighbouring streets.

I found the staff were very friendly greeting you no matter how many times you come and go. The lobby smelled wonderfully of a tea that was very flavourful. The room was clean, bright and open. The bed was comfortable. Location to everything downtown was great, easy walking distance to everything.

Great facility and excellent service. Comfortable rooms and bed. Valet parking. Continental breakfast is included but is just average, I suggest ordering a la carte instead. Shuttle service to the airport is provided for CDN$ 20.-

Magnolia continues to deliver excellent service and amenities. The rooms are especially well appointed and the bed is superb not to mention the Nespresso coffee maker with a little stash of real cream or milk in your refrigerator. The Nespresso coffees in the morning make up for anything else in your day!

Inn At Laurel Point Victoria

It was probably just fine during the 1970s but unfathomable that a so-called high end hotel doesn’t even bother to install outlets on desk or bedside table or bedside lamp. Location is great. No breakfast buffet and a la carte breakfast menu is over priced for standard breakfast fare. No bar. It was noticeable when booking that this hotel was about half the price of others in same category, presumably because of lack of updates.

We had arrived at the Inn at Laurel Point to check in and found quite a wonderful surprise. The hotel had decided to upgrade us from the room we had to the Honeymoon suite. Our check in was seamless and the lady behind the counter was friendly and welcoming. We entered and found it to be absolutely amazing. Every room (except the bathroom) had absolutely beautiful views. The TV room had a pull out bed, TV, phone, small refrigerator and a sliding door to a very large patio. The bedroom had a TV, chair and sliding door to the large patio. The bedroom was about the the only place for good WIFI if you need it. The bathroom has a large glass enclosed shower and 2 sinks. There was this super big 4 person jetted tub next to the bedroom that also had spectacular views, wow what a way to relax. Checking out was also seamless. We will definitely come back, thanks to whomever picked us for the upgrade, it was truly wonderful.

Humboldt House Bed & Breakfast

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our babymoon and we got exactly what we were looking for: relaxation. One of the main reasons we booked this B&B in particular was the jacuzzi, and it definitely did not disappoint. The house is located very close to the city center, though we took our car a lot as the weather we not so nice. After an outing it wss so nice to go back to the room and warm up with a nice soak in the tub. The Mikado Room was beautiful and we loved how quiet and private it seemed despite being on the main floor. We only briefly saw one other person in the house during our entire long-weekend stay. The drawing room had tea and cookies out which we thought was a very nice touch. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay here and would return again.

Great historical hotel with a very warm and receptive staff. You get lots of little goodies like 10% off in the onsite wine store, free cheese platter in the restaurant and free coffee and pastry in the coffee shop. Rooms are a little small but I am not complaining just warning people as it is a historical building. It has a great location right in the middle of downtown Victoria. I will make the Hotel Rialto my go to place to stay in Victoria.

Hotel is ideally located for exploring Victoria. The stay was great, the staff were very pleasant and helpful. They managed to squeeze us into the Tapas restaurant on Valentine’s Day and we had a great meal.

Stayed for three nights and everything was perfect. From the greeting at the door, to the valet, and the very clean suite, all went well. Very convenient location and walkable to just about everywhere. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The Rooms have large balconies with views of the Inner Harbour Area. Renovation on the one wing should be done for next season. Great location and a very helpful front desk. There also is a gym and pool.

My wife and I spent four wonderful days staying at The Grand Pacific . The location was fantastic . The views were spectacular and the service was fantastic . This hotel is located within walking distance of the museum , parliament buildings , great food and great shopping . The fact that it is also across the street from the ferry terminal makes it a first pick for any type of adventure .

Fairmont Empress Hotel

First of all, the club in this hotel is wonderful. Excellent service and the food and beverage options are incredible.

I visited when the property was under construction. I feel the guest experience for check-in could have been handled better. The Fairmont Gold club check-in seemed a bit disorganized.

Rooms were wonderful, but a little small. Most likely due to this being an older property that received a modern upgrade.

Q – the bar on property is really great, and the food did not disappoint.

We arrived on a Friday afternoon to a very unconventional check-in area. It is on the side of the hotel and difficult to find. We flew into Victoria and after the drive to the hotel (about 30 minutes) I had to use the restroom once we arrived. I asked the women behind the counter where the restroom was located as my husband was taking care of the check-in process. She told me there wasn’t one and it would be “easier” to go in my room. The hotel is currently under construction and do understand they are undergoing a renovation but to not have a restroom close by is ludicrous. When we finally made it up to our room which they call a King Luxury it was a huge disappointment. It was a tiny box and the bathroom was just as small. However, the decor was nice and the room was clean. The hotel is beautiful (non construction part) and in a great location for walking downtown. We are disappointed in such a prestigious hotel they have not done a proper job while undergoing a renovation.
