We loved this hotel! We had planned to spend several days in Victoria over Christmas, and this was the hotel we booked for the first part of our trip. Once we arrived and got moved in, we extended our stay another day, and then extended it again to stay our entire vacation. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was top notch, the room was quiet and comfortable, the hotel itself was clean, and the location was very convenient. The hotel is across the street from the Parliament building, with easy access to the Royal BC Museum, downtown, and the waterfront. There is a grocery store down the street, as well as coffee shops, a tea parlor, quaint restaurants and a market.

Staying at the Embassy Inn for 15 wonderful nights with our Tour was super. Our accommodations in the king suite was fantastic and far more than what we expected. the friendly and helpful cleaning staff were excellent and very efficient. the breakfast room is very inviting and bright even to the palm trees outside the windows. Scott you are very friendly, professional and a wonderful chef and made every morning a great start to our day with vast array or food especially the waffles, strawberries and whip topping. Thank you all for making our holiday so memorable. (We will be back)

We arrived on the Victoria Clipper and chose this hotel because it was one of the few who provided a breakfast that was included in our package. We arrived in the middle of December and it just happened to snow that day which I hear is a rarity. We were able to schlep our suitcases on foot to the hotel from the dock. When we arrived around 11 am we were told our room wasn’t ready but he could put us on the 3rd floor instead of the 4th floor that we were assigned. We agreed because we had some exploring to do.

We walked into our room and what a surprise. We got a corner suite with 2 windows, over looking the Parliment buildings and a full kitchen. We were happy.

It appears that they had free parking but being we were on foot I cannot confirm that. Breakfast was pretty good and we were full.

Great experience. Walking distance to the inner harbor.

This little Inn is located right next to the Parliament buildings downtown Victoria. They call it “James Bay area” but it’s so close to the museum, wax museum and literally minutes from the downtown area of Government Street.

The Inn itself is older, but they were doing renovations while we were there including new furniture. The room we had on the 3rd floor was your typical room in a downtown city location, small with a queen size bed (not very comfy), chair, TV, mini fridge and single keurig coffee maker. I was a little disappointed not to have a kettle and tea as I don’t drink coffee but that’s just my preference.

The room was very clean, which the housekeeping staff should be very proud of themselves!! Thank you!!

The breakfast was more than just your typical continental breaky that included waffles, scrambled eggs, ham & tater tots. Nice variety and was very good!!

Our room overlooked the parking lot as our room was above the entrance to the Inn so no view, but nice to have a little balcony to get some fresh air.

I would recommend this Inn for the location. If you are going to be in and out touring the city, then stay here, if not, find something a little more luxurious as this is pretty basic ūüôā

We also did a 2 hour walking food tour which was great to get some interesting history of the city and taste a variety of local restaurants/shops.

Our suite was large and well equipped. The living room had a hide- a bed. there were two TV sets. The complimentary breakfast was excellent – there were choices for everyone’s taste. Hotel staff were all very helpful and personable.

I’ve stayed here a few times and I come back because it is predictably good. I especially liked that they proactively put me in a pet friendly room, having noticed that I travel with my dog based on past bookings. Parking the car so close it great, and the general atmosphere is quiet, which makes a nice change from many other hotels in the area. Its a quiet part of town, and this place is set away from the main bayside road which is good. Rooms are always comfortable, great beds, clean bathroom and good TV. Often get a room with a writing desk and chair which is really great for business emails in the evening.

I frequently stay at The Embassy when travelling to Victoria. It is clean, comfortable and the staff is always accommodating. My medical appointments mean a friend or relative accompanies me. This hotel is steps from the waterfront, the BC Museum and many restaurants, and convenient to walk to the down town core.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Embassy Inn.
The room was very comfortable and what we had expected.
The free breakfast was delicious and highly recommended.
The staff, front desk and maids, were friendly and professional.
Also, they were very helpful.
The location was excellent: across the street from the B.C. Legislature
and a block fro the inner harbour.
I recommend the Embassy Inn for people to stay in Victoria. It is worth the price!

An ideal location beside the BC Parliament building and centrally located to the city…the staff were friendly especially those in housekeeping, and the breakfasts were just right. If you walk, the farthest attraction is two-hours away; the restaurants are diverse and plenty. If you drive, all the sights are easily accessible.

Took the Clipper from Seattle. We were able to check in early. Stayed on the 4th floor. Room was nice and spacious with vaulted ceiling. The room had a tea kettle, coffee maker, refrigerator, Tv and safe

This was our second time staying at Embassy Inn and first trip bringing our dogs along. Definitely a dog-friendly hotel, the staff not only made us feel welcome but the dogs as well! Sarah was wonderful in checking us in, even granting us with a complimentary upgrade to a suite which was awesome and unexpected! Free on-site parking, free breakfast (loved the crispy hash brown bites!), and convenient location. Clean room, not the most modern feel but there were touches here and there. Great Christmas decor as well. Overall, highly recommended and would stay here regularly whenever we visit Victoria.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean. The breakfast had hot and cold items which we enjoyed. The location was close to the water front and we were able to walk every where. The staff were friendly. I would return.

You have to stay here! Better service and amenities than the typical chain hotels. Scott, the chef is accommodating and has a great sense of humor. John, the general manager and Sarah, the front desk manager are both welcoming and very helpful..the Embassy is close to everything and yet a quiet stay. I will stay here again and again. The room was spacious and comfortable. Housekeeping is attentive and professional. Anyone needing an excellent experience in hotel management must try the Embassy!
Our second stay at the Embassy was more than we expected. We had requested a room away from the elevators and got a real bonus. The room had a complete kitchenette, a small table for dinner for two, an easy chair and great lights for reading.

The included free breakfast is not good if you are on a diet but grrea otherwise along with free newspapers to keep you up to date. The free underground parking is well lit and very accessible.
The Embassy is now our home away from home whe we visit Victoria. Don’t forget to ask for the seniour rate.

I had stayed here overnight once before, alone. This time my wife and I stayed three nights. Everyone from the reception to the cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. The parking was free, as was the breakfast,( though this was not as varied as we would have liked. Why do so few hotels offer granola or muesli?) The beds were comfortable, and everything in the rooms very clean, the adjacent street quiet and the location very good either for walking or driving.

When booking our hotel we kept coming back to the embassy. The price was right, included breakfast and parking.

We ended up calling the hotel to book directly. They were able to price match what I saw online and upgraded us to a king sized bed.

The hallway wasn’t upgraded but the room was with more updated decor. The bathroom was not updated but everything was clean and worked well.
The room had a balcony which was nice and had a slip of ocean view.

The continental breakfast was quite good with waffles, eggs, bacon, toast, fruit salad and a collection of cereals, teas pastries.

The location of the hotel was really good, next to the legislature buildings. As its off the main street, the room was nice and quiet with no traffic or street noise.

The only downside of the room was the sunlight which lit up the room early morning (8am). The beds were firm but mostly comfortable.
Would stay here again and would recommend for a budget vacation

12 couples of our Square Dance club recently stayed here and had a wonderful weekend! Comfortable beds, excellent service and good breakfast. We arrived on the early ferry from Port Angeles and they had room to take all our bags so we could go off and explore. We will be back!

The staff are remarkable from the minute you arrive. The suites are very comfortable, spacious and well appointed. A great breakfast is served each day and on more than one occasion the general manager stopped by our table to chat. The prime location made it easy to get to all the great attractions and restaurants the inner harbour and downtown offer. We’ll be back!

Had a fantastic time at the Embassy Inn. We would definitely stay there again. The kids loved the outdoor pool rain or shine. Breakfast was surprisingly fun and lots of options to choose from. Also the location to downtown was optimal. Room was clean and staff was attentive and friendly. Fantastic trip all around!!

We have usually stayed at a different hotel when traveling to Victoria – this time we tried the Embassy Inn. Very friendly staff, good location, clean room, easy parking and a good hot breakfast (and a very good breakfast attendant).

We wanted a beautiful getaway OFF the beaten path in lovely picturesque Victoria for our first ever visit. We were NOT disappointed. Friendly, clean, quiet, a couple short blocks off the major street running through town. Embassy Inn was JUST the ticket! Everyone was SO friendly! From the lovely breakfast to tips on great golfing and lovely tours, our stay in Victoria was everything we wanted and more! Will definitely come here again!

What a lovely city. Victoria feels like a cross between Monaco and Alaska.

The room was quite small but clean. Victoria hotels are expensive so this hotel was a good middle ground between can’t afford it and not worth it. The location is almost too close to everything but it still was quiet. The second building that people complain about is no longer in use. We did not go in the small pool but others were in it having fun.

The front desk staff was fine, they seemed a little stressed. The breakfast staff was very attentive and nice but the breakfast was the usual “American style” hotel breakfast. A European style continental breakfast would be better in my opinion because fresh.

The town is small enough that being a bit further from the harbor would probably not have been a problem. There is a liquor store just steps away by the Days Inn and you can walk through the Day’s Inn to get to the ferry,

Queen bed for 2 was not optimal but we managed. There were no rooms with 2 beds so they allowed us to have our son (who met us there for one day and night) sleep on the floor for one night for $20 which we appreciated greatly though a roll up mattress would have been nice. There was a few hour hot water outage which happens and understandable but an announcement of what was going on and acknowledgement of the inconvenience would have been nice.

If you can avoid high summer the prices and crowds are less but then the weather has to be dealt with. Overall, an enjoyable stay.
