Magnolia Hotel Victoria BC

This was a beautiful hotel to stay at and it was very close to a number of good restaurants and shops. Was happy to stay here and would certainly stay here again. Enjoyed walking around the area as well.

We were celebrating a special occasion and booked the executive corner room it was lovely! Very clean, comfortable bed, fridge, wet bar, couch, nespresso machine, table and chairs, awesome! The staff at the Magnolia are top notch, very attentive and friendly. The continental breakfast was great, homemade yogurt, fruit, pastries, toast, hard boiled eggs etc. all you would want to start out your day. The hotel it self is in an excellent location downtown Victoria within walking distance to everything! I have stayed here a number of times and it is my number one choice in Victoria!

English Inn Victoria

Great old victoria mansion, beautiful rock work. Was under reno when there but would go back! Loved the deep tubs and amazing comfy mattress. Staff was accommodating, but wish the bar was open a bit later 🙂

Just attended a wedding here. The Inn is really nice but rather chilly. The mix of traditional decor and modern is rather confusing. Staff are exceptional and I wonder based on the fantastic food provided for the reception why they are not making the most of their dining facilities. The continental breakfast is delicious but sadly no lunch or dinner is available. Heather was very accommodating and ensured we had everything we needed All in all it’s a good choice

Brentwood Bay Resort Victoria

Such a great resort the staff are all so friendly .
My gf and I won a free night at this resort I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic getaway.
Had some tasty beer in the pub and soaked my night away in the tub

The location of Brentwood Bay Spa and Resort is perfect. Located right at the Ferry crossing and marina so there is lots of watch and do. The building is beautifully designed in a modern northwest lodge style and it is just gorgeous. The rooms are impeccably designed with wonderful color palettes and wood. Super comfy bed and bedding. Excellent luxurious bathroom with Jacuzzi tub. Our room had a balcony which made our whole experience absolutely perfect. You won’t regret staying here!

This actually took me by surprise. Room faces the marina on the ocean. Quick walk from the MillBay ferry. The room has a gas fireplace, jacuzzi , spa bathroom, and coffee pot and kettle. Watch a huge to from 2 comfy leather recliners. Lots of lighting and a huge patio with chairs and tables. Didn’t try the spa services but seemed to be priced as per Market. Will do that next time! Simply loved the room and area. Has a Pub and a formal dining room. Had the pizza and a salad. Both were very good. Get the opportunity try it out!

The Brentwood Bay Resort stands out in my memory as one of the best hotels I have stayed at. The entire hotel is oriented so every room has a waterfront view, and the rooms themselves are well-equipped and very relaxing. When we arrived we were offered a cup of hot cider as we checked in, and then personally led to our room. We ate most of our meals at the hotel pub, and every item was delicious. The cocktails were fantastic as well! We took the opportunity to go for a late night swim, and the pool was heated and lit despite the freezing temperatures. There were even still cups and water poolside. The best part about our stay was the absolute silence when outside. There’s no traffic, no noise besides the water and wind. The best place for a peaceful getaway!

Abigails Hotel Victoria

Abilgail’s Hotel is a charming place to stay and is within walking distance of the harbor and most of downtown Victoria. Everyone we dealt with there was friendly and helpful, going out of their ways to make our stay pleasant. The breakfasts were delicious and healthy, the food, as much as possible, sourced from Vancouver Island. While not having an elevator might deter some potential guests, the comfortable and clean rooms are definitely worth climbing the stairs. If one is staying in on a rainy day or in the evening, there is a warm and welcoming library room to enjoy. This is a hotel to treasure and to come back to when possible.

We had an amazing stay! Stayed in an Opal room with fireplace and jetted tub. Very comfortable and beautiful. Enjoyed an excellent breakfast cooked by an amazing chef and great afternoon appetizers. Had an amazing eggs poached with a sauce so amazing and asparagus and homemade sausage, my husband blueberry pancakes, both with amazing fresh baked scones fresh fruit cups fresh squeezed juice and choice of hot drink. Afternoon had different every day also from chocolate dipped strawberries, fine cheese ,homemade cream soups, just to name a few great for after a day of walking to see the sights. The location was convenient the staff friendly and very helpful.

I found the staff were very friendly greeting you no matter how many times you come and go. The lobby smelled wonderfully of a tea that was very flavourful. The room was clean, bright and open. The bed was comfortable. Location to everything downtown was great, easy walking distance to everything.

Great facility and excellent service. Comfortable rooms and bed. Valet parking. Continental breakfast is included but is just average, I suggest ordering a la carte instead. Shuttle service to the airport is provided for CDN$ 20.-

Magnolia continues to deliver excellent service and amenities. The rooms are especially well appointed and the bed is superb not to mention the Nespresso coffee maker with a little stash of real cream or milk in your refrigerator. The Nespresso coffees in the morning make up for anything else in your day!

The Location and the ambience of the Tudor style manor was wonderful. I enjoyed having the carriage room at the top of the Inn, with the skylight. Comfortable bed, Cable TV, and the good breakfast. I appreciated the stable and reliable wifi.

What an amazing place! The hotel is just beautiful, the room we had was giant and had a beautiful balcony overlooking the gardens. The staff were great and you could spend a lot of time in the gardens. It was a little out of the way, which made finding a nice meal close by difficult (but not impossible!). It would be great if there was a full service restaurant in the hotel.

Magnolia Hotel Victoria BC

If you are looking for a wonderful place to stay and be spoiled it is the Magnolia. All the employees are so nice and helpful. When we were checking in we requested a room on a higher floor but they were unable to provide that as the hotel was fully booked. The front desk staff apologized for not being able to move us but provided us with two vouchers for a hot breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the breakfast the next morning. When we were heading out for the evening they concierge handed us an umbrella to use as it was raining a bit. This was also very thoughtful. The rooms are superb. Even our room on the second floor which did not have a view, had a lovely little terrace to sit out on. The bed and all the amenities in the room are top notch. Best place to stay in Victoria.

I was just a guest at the Magnolia for 2 nights.
We were greeted by friendly staff. We had stopped in early to find out what time was best for check in, I was informed that we could be checked in then and there.
We were given a room on the corner facing Douglas St.
The room itself was clean and comfortable. There are thoughtful touches to the room, chocolates beside the bed, extra toiletries. The staff were very helpful, our tv wasn’t working properly, the issue was dealt with very quickly.
All was well until around 10pm, the bars on Douglas St, were so loud, we couldn’t sleep. Loud bass, drunken yelling. It was awful, it lasted until 230am.
This is not a fault of the hotels.
I appreciate that they have no control over what goes on outside the hotel and any hotel in the downtown area will have the same issue.
I did ask if it was possible to change rooms, it wasn’t possible on the Friday night but might be for Saturday.
Our request was granted, the staff were wonderful, not only did they move our room to a quieter location but we also received an upgraded room.
We were so grateful for the level of service received.
I sincerely do not put blame the hotel, but I wish I could have been warned that it could be an issue, or been provided ear plugs when I called the front desk at 1am asking for resolve.
Regardless we were grateful for the outcome, the manager herself spoke with me and apologized and went above and beyond to ensure we had a good night sleep the next night. We did have a wonderful sleep the 2nd night. Again the room was clean thoughtfully put together. The fireplace was a nice treat on a raining night. I highly recommend the Magnolia, the service is unsurpassed, from the valet employees, the front desk, to the management.

The rooms are cozy and private. The bathroom floors are heated and the biffy is separate fro, the main bathroom, which my husband loved.Nice touch with a cookie in the room free of charge. The front end staff went over and above . The only disappointment was the room service menu was completely lacking. there is a sushi menu but upon wording form that menu we were told that the chef didn’t show up and there for sushi wan’t an option. The sampler platter was great and the calamari crisp. We would have gone to the restraint but were told that it had been booked for a couple months and so we needed to dine else where, which was part of the reason why we booked there as my husband is a bit of a foodie. We will go back and I would still recommend this resort … Just happened to be a staff issue

Large comfortable bed room with outside seating area. Great amenities. Nice bathrooms with large Jacuzzi tub. Very quite room. Nice cozy Gas Fire place.
Great spaces beds and duvets including pillows. Would stay here again.

They sold too many groupons for their restaurant. Reservations at reasonable times are very difficult to get. They are booked up a week in advance and we could not get a reservation before 8 pm even with 7 days advance notice. We have not been for our dinner yet.

They care about their guests! They will attend to you and your needs. As most everyone points out, the rooms are awesome. We stayed four nights in Foxglove sleeping in a deliciously comfortable bed. We arrived in our room with a bottle of wine, chocolate covered fruit, and a greeting card congratulating us on our anniversary. Such a nice gesture. The huge whirlpool tub, four post bed, elegant window dressing, and fireplace set a romantic tone for our 32nd anniversary getaway. Read all the five star reviews below, I vouch for all the high reviews of this wonderful little hotel.

They serve breakfast everyday and every day, it’s a well thought out menu of delightfully tasty morning fare. Kudos to Josh, the young man who cooked our beautifully plated dish every day.

This is the place to stay in Victoria.

Everything was pretty much perfect. The service was excellent, the room was impeccable, from the cookies on arrival to the comfortable bed, and the thick, fluffy towels.
The included appetizers and breakfast were delicious.

Was so comfy! Bed was amazing to sleep on, bathroom was huge and nice deep tub! Loved the delux king room. And breaky was good 🙂

Attentive staff: it was very windy that night and I was brought candles in case power went out.

This property was rich in history and had a homey feel… if you consider a miniature Downton Abbey “homey.” The rooms are all well appointed and each have their own individual charm. What I appreciated the most was that the staff were so accommodating, warm, and kind. Firstly Heather was incredible, she made sure all my finicky requests were made as I am celiac and needed help to figure out where I was and where I was going. Heather was very professional and patient with me and my lack of direction. Breakfast was also super delicious. As for dinner there is a collection of menus at the front desk from restaurants that will deliver to you if you don’t feel like leaving the grounds… YUM! Kenan took the time to talk to me about the history of the property and all of it’s notable occupants, he told me about the different rooms and the rich, soirted and beautiful past of the Inn, which as a solo traveller and a person in need of a distraction was a great way to pass the time. Kenan is wonderful and truly an asset to the property! Finally Randy, he was equally as kind and knowledgeable. He took the time to point me in the right direction everytime I got lost.. and like clockwork he was downstairs with my coffee order ready to go the moment I made it downstairs… even though his shift had not started yet. Furthermore, I was in Victoria for a not so happy reason and the Randy took the time to say hello everyone morning and night upon my return. Truly wonderful, scincere, considerate staff…. and based on that alone I will not stay anywhere else in Victoria as long as this property is still open and available. Also if I would have know that such a beautiful property existed I would have had my wedding here! The venue is ideal for a small (60 ish) person, intimate but luxurious wedding. Truly Magnificent!
