The hotel’s location is great, within close walking distance of main attractions and plenty of restaurants and bars. Breakfast was included and basic continental style. There are bars etc linked to the hotel; Big Bad John’s hillbilly bar is an experience to try! Aside from that, the room was clean but pretty small and the decor somewhat tired. Staff weren’t overly friendly or especially helpful but it was clear we arrived on a bad day as the lift was out of order and housekeeping was understaffed. Would have been nice to have been offered help to carry our heavy bags up, particularly as we saw other guests have their bags carried up! No complaints as such on our stay but not a place I’d particularly recommend.
We stayed for two nights. Hotel was within walking distance of many of the attractions (inner harbor, fishermen’s warf, Chinatown, BC museums, parks, etc.), and lots eating places. Several bars plus roof top volleyball area in the same building. All the staff was friendly and helpful. Room was small but was clean and comfortable. No A/C but a table fan was provided which kept the room comfortable to sleep in the evenings. A very nice continental breakfast (good variety to choose from) was included with the room cost. Easy to catch many city buses from hotel. Can be a bit noisy if you are a light sleeper with the bars in the building till about 1 am. We stayed up late most nights/mornings so not a problem for us. I would stay again at this hotel.
