This is my choice for a short stay . It has the warmth of being a small hotel and staff are very accommodating. The rates are very reasonable considering the location to downtown and the harbour front.
I love this hotel because it’s just off the radar for the majority of tourists that visit Victoria but still within walking distance of everything. The rooms are huge, clean and well appointed, and the staff has always been friendly. The value for what you get here is top notch. I’ve stayed 5 or 6 times at least.
Helm’s Inn Victoria
600 Douglas Street, Victoria, BC
The only things I might recommend are: more consistent wifi; updating the Jacuzzi so that the jet controls are part of the tub and not on the wall ( I absolutely loved soaking in it!)
A lovely place in a great location! The neighborhood was just that – a quiet, residential neighborhood. Yet, It was within walking distance to everything. Douglas was so kind and considerate!
This lovely, 100 year-old Victorian-style B&B was in a perfect location – easy walking distance to the Legislature Building, waterfront, shopping, etc., with the added bonus of being on a quiet street away from heavy traffic. The breakfasts were unique and tasty. We would absolutely stay there again.
We arrived by Boat and found the bed and breakfast right down the street where we could drop off our backpacks! Lightening the load made our first day in Victoria wonderful! The accommodations were great. The bed comfortable and the breakfast superlative! Thanks for the restaurant location suggestions. I felt like a queen!

Located very close to the Clipper landing and a very easy walk to Harbour Towers Hotel and Suites and downtown shopping. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the heating was just right. The front desk workers were very accommodating upon arrival and departure. I would stay there upon visiting again and again and will tell my friends about my wonderful experience experience
Our family of 5 stayed in a two bedroom suite. The rooms are a bit dated, but very clean and spacious. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is a very short walk from the Victoria Clipper. The Parliament, Empress and Royal BC Museum are all close. There are many restaurants nearby to choose from. There are a lot of stores for shopping too. The included breakfast was great and the dining staff were all super nice to us. A great stay!
Excellent deal with Groupon. A bottle of wine, free parking and a good breakfast all included. Hotel is centrally located and parking garage allows exit in three directions. Staff in breakfast restaurant were excellent, especially the young man who appears to work 7 days a week.

I stayed here as part of a conference I was attending. I loved the location in downtown Victoria, right across from the water. The room was very comfortable with lots of pillows! They served some cookies as part of our refreshment breaks at our conference that I am still thinking about (the protein cookies and the chocolate hazelnut cookies). So delicious. Every part of my stay was excellent. I cannot think of anything that I would change.
We used the pool every night. It’s a really big pool with lots of space for everyone to have fun. The hotel room was also good and spacious. We had a pretty good view on the 10th floor. We could see the Empress, the Royal BC Museum, part of the Legislature buildings, the water and had a small balcony too. I recommend visiting the Robert Bateman Gallery across the street – it’s excellent.

We live in Victoria, but decided to stay at the Gatsby Mansion for our anniversary.
What a gem! We loved it there! The vintage accommodations, so carefully preserved and well-maintained. It was like stepping back in time. The complimentary “Breakfast Tea” in the morning was amazing.
For an authentic, lovely and memorable stay in Victoria, that is close to everything and still affordable, we highly recommend the Gatsby Mansion.
We stayed in the motel suites at the back of the mansion house itself – it was well equipped and functional and had a small balcony with a view of the bay where we could see the sea planes landing and taking off. This part of the hotel felt neglected and the main mansion hotel was undergoing repairs and painting so they were probably in the middle of seasons restoring the upkeep while it was quiet. Victoria was great and we enjoyed long walks in the local neighborhood and enjoying the sights and beautiful weather.
We took our family to high tea for the first time. It was casual which was good for us. Good food. Holiday tea was very good. Joanne was a great waitress. She shared a lot of fun Canadian facts. We will go back.

The staff working are very friendly and always willing to help if you need it. The breakfast buffet at the restaurant was one of the best I’ve had any hotel. I did order the pizza however and it was disgusting, to the point I had to sit outside my room because it smelled so bad. I would suggest not ordering that.
Hotel was beautiful and the staff went out of there way to make me feel comfortable especially Khai, she was very professional
Room was very clean and comfortable
food was very good and worth the money
Great staff at front desk and maintenance and very helpful , were at your room very promptly when you called for extra glasses or fix the TV .
Front desk staff was great and would return just due to the service .
Four Points Sheraton Victoria
829 Mccallum Road, Langford, BC
We stayed at the Fairmont Empress for our honeymoon.
We were not disappointed. We were upgraded to a lovely suite! (Thanks Nathan)
The property is the best location in Victoria. it’s like the rest of the town was built around the hotel. Like all of the Fairmont properties it has that old historic charm to it yet with a modern twist. The Empress is known for their lovely afternoon high tea.
The property also features a large sized indoor pool and gym facility.
The room was beautiful we has a 2 room suite with separate lounge. The bed was amazing and the room was very fresh and modern.
We have loved to stay at the Empress for many years and have such good memories of bringing family and friends to stay and dine there. But several changes over the last year have completely changed our enjoyment of this hotel. For some strange reason the Bengal Lounge was closed — we always loved to go there when we stayed at the hotel. And today we took a day trip to Victoria to bring our granddaughter to tea for her birthday. The tea is very expensive but now there is no fruit to begin the tea. The service has been reduced. No tea was poured for us at all — we poured our own tea and milk, we had to remove a large dripping tea bag (not loose tea any longer) from the pot ourselve

Great old victoria mansion, beautiful rock work. Was under reno when there but would go back! Loved the deep tubs and amazing comfy mattress. Staff was accommodating, but wish the bar was open a bit later 🙂
Just attended a wedding here. The Inn is really nice but rather chilly. The mix of traditional decor and modern is rather confusing. Staff are exceptional and I wonder based on the fantastic food provided for the reception why they are not making the most of their dining facilities. The continental breakfast is delicious but sadly no lunch or dinner is available. Heather was very accommodating and ensured we had everything we needed All in all it’s a good choice

My parents who are seniors enjoyed the comfortable beds, Not every hotel offers two queen size beds as most are just two double beds. The accessible bathroom was great for a person who requires a walker or cane. The service they received while visiting for family day weekend was very friendly and helpful. Loved the cookies, tea and coffee
This hotel is right behind the Empress Hotel providing easy walking access to everything. The staff were exceptional. The front desk, valet and housekeepers all interacted with us and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Thursday night a Bartholomew pub is music bingo night. Apparently a locals favorite. We had a blast.
The hotel is located right downtown within walking distance to everything. Upon arrival the staff are very friendly and helpful. |Valet parking is available for a fee. If you prefer street parking after 6 p.m until 7 a.m. is free. loved the warm cookie on arrival. I stay here for stay-cations!! Will be back again.

We loved this hotel! We had planned to spend several days in Victoria over Christmas, and this was the hotel we booked for the first part of our trip. Once we arrived and got moved in, we extended our stay another day, and then extended it again to stay our entire vacation. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was top notch, the room was quiet and comfortable, the hotel itself was clean, and the location was very convenient. The hotel is across the street from the Parliament building, with easy access to the Royal BC Museum, downtown, and the waterfront. There is a grocery store down the street, as well as coffee shops, a tea parlor, quaint restaurants and a market.
Staying at the Embassy Inn for 15 wonderful nights with our Tour was super. Our accommodations in the king suite was fantastic and far more than what we expected. the friendly and helpful cleaning staff were excellent and very efficient. the breakfast room is very inviting and bright even to the palm trees outside the windows. Scott you are very friendly, professional and a wonderful chef and made every morning a great start to our day with vast array or food especially the waffles, strawberries and whip topping. Thank you all for making our holiday so memorable. (We will be back)
