Quality Inn Downtown Victoria

While not a fancy hotel the Quality Inn is a good reasonably priced hotel. Clean and quiet and in a very convenient place for downtown Victoria. No need for a car as most of the downtown attractions are within easy walking distance. They are doing renovations on some of the rooms which is a good thing, nothing bad just due for an upgrade.

The room was a good size with everything one would need ,
The staff friendly and helpful , food excellent both in taste and value
Location awesome right in the middle of downtown walk everywhere
Can’t saw enough about it so I’ll stop.
Go find out for yourself. Won’t be disappointed.

Oak Bay Beach Hotel

I booked a last minute weekend getaway to Victoria on a whim and contemplated which hotel I was going to stay at. Like many others, I initially thought I wanted to stay at the Fairmont that I had heard so much about, until my boss recommended I look into Oak Bay Beach. I was hesitant at first – it seemed to be a bit “off the grid” from downtown Victoria. But don’t let that sway your decision… it’s a quick 10 minute drive! The Oak Bay area is gorgeous – you’re RIGHT on the water, a quick walk to the marina, and in a beautiful neighbourhood (I ended up driving around for half an hour just looking at houses in the neighbourhood for fun!)

The hotel itself is paradise. It has a grand feeling to it the moment you walk in, and the staff is ridiculously welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable (I had a “residential view” room… I couldn’t justify the $125+ to upgrade to an ocean view). Room service is 24/7 and a good selection of food at any hour. The Snug pub is cute (great pub food and well-priced drinks), the Dining Room is nice/has a good menu as well. There’s a theatre on the property which looked like it would have been a fun time, but they weren’t playing any films at the time I was staying.

The amenities are AMAZING at this hotel. There is a (very well heated) pool and two hot tubs on the edge of the water. Sitting in the hot tub with a glass of wine… what else could you ask for?! I’d also recommend treating yourself to a spa treatment… I went for the half hour facial and I hadn’t felt that relaxed or refreshed in weeks.

Overall, I don’t have enough great things to say about this hotel and the people who work here. No disrespect to the Fairmont (I love Fairmont hotels, too) – but I’m so glad I ended up booking Oak Bay and that I now have a “go to” home away from home when I make future weekend getaways to Victoria.

We stayed here over the holidays in a petite suite for a very reasonable price. Check staff were friendly. This place is not wheelchair friendly at all. Lots of stairs and no elevators. The hotel is old and a bit dated. The rooms are not quiet. The petite suite has the basics for a good nights sleep and no extras like a coffee maker or microwave. We had to call down for a hairdryer. There is also a restaurant located in the hotel. It is walking distance to the Parliament buildings and downtown. There is also parking around the hotel.

Older hotel no elevator but clean. Decent sized room. Friendly helpful staff. Has both a restaurant and a pub. Slightly off the beaten path in a quieter neighbor, but walking distance or quick taxi to anything you need.

We booked this thru the Victoria Clipper. The hotel is a ten minute walk from downtown and a twenty minute walk from the Clipper dock. It is a pleasant walk down safe streets. The building has several floors with no elevators. Our room was large with two queen beds and private bath. No A/C, but we were there in December so it wasn’t necessary. We ate lunch in the restaurant on the lower floor. The food and service were very good. The decor is dated, but nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Inn at the Union Club

Central location, extremely friendly and helpful staff, very clean, well-provisioned and comfortable rooms and good dining and lounge facilities. Don’t be put off by their apparent obsession with a dress code, it’s all very pragmatic although this is probably going to suit the older person.

My main reason for returning to the Union Club is that it offers a British-style venue, especially in its public rooms. I especially enjoy the very large reading room with its genteel atmosphere and ample selection of periodicals.

As other establishments renovate and diminish the presentation of their British heritage, I appreciate the Union Club for its support of Canada’s English/Scottish legacy.

Richard and Michael offered great service which I and my guests for breakfast appreciated. And the location couldn’t be more central to Victoria. Dan in Vancouver.

Inn At Laurel Point Victoria

Last few months personally have been really really stressful. Still not sure what it is about Inn at Laurel Point that is different from everywhere else. They have that special something that I have very seldom found anywhere else. I now compare everywhere to Laurel Point and am still looking for one that measures up! Great food at reasonable prices, gorgeous views, attentive funny staff. Valet parking is always good. Close to downtown for my appointments, so just walk downtown. Lovely lovely spot.

The laurel point has caught up with the times. Since it’s on the other side of the harbour we’ve tended to forget about it over the years as it’s a bit further walk to downtown, plus the last time I stayed ( several years ago) it just felt a bit tired.

We just finished a short stay and I can certainly recommend it to fellow travellers. The rooms have been upgraded, the amenities refreshed, the aura restaurant has world class cuisine and the level of service is precise, timely and friendly.

Things are much closer than they seem too. A wonderful beautiful 8-10minute walk around Victoria’s stunning inner harbour and you are right in the thick of tourism central.

I’m happy we chose the laurel point on this visit and I’m sure we will stay there again.

We had a great stay. The room was clean and tidy. The pool was clean and well cared for. The location is great as well. It is located on a walking path the leads right past the parliament buildings to downtown (opposite direction goes toward the breakwater/fisherman’s wharf).
We booked this hotel through BC Ferries Vacations and had a great experience. Although there was no availability for this hotel listed on the BC Ferries website (as it was less than 48hrs from arrival), the BC Ferries agent was able to call the hotel and book us a room.
We arrived before check-in and asked if we were able to check in early. Unfortunately our room was unavailable but the friendly front desk staff asked if we would like to purchase an upgrade as it was Valentines Day and they still had suites available, they even offered to show us the room to let us decide. We ended up going with an upgrade to a studio suite (outer harbor view) which was beautiful.

Huntingdon Hotel Victoria

Right on the Inner Harbor, across the street from the Victoria Clipper dock. Easy access to everything. Staff was excellent. The only negative would be the large number of steps. Could be tough for anyone mobility compromised. We have stayed here before and would do it again.

The staff are very friendly, the rooms are spacious and clean, with cooking facilities should you need them. Parking is available, usually at a cost, but was included in our BC Ferries package. The only complaint I have, but it’s a big one, was the breakfast. This was included in the price, but over a three day stay, two of the breakfasts bordered on inedible. The first day the pancakes were so dried out from being pre-prepared, I couldn’t cut them with a knife. The third day, the only eggs available were scrambled and neither I nor my husband was able to eat more than a mouthful. Dry, tasteless and obviously hours old, even at 8am. Even if you are including a meal, it ought to be of reasonable
quality. It’s a pity, because it spoiled an otherwise enjoyable experience.

Within walking distance to downtown. No view, but everything else is done very well. If you want to relax and take a step back in time then you will appreciate what the H.H. has to offer. Service was friendly and very well done! We would go back.
We have only stayed in the “Mikado” room. It was quiet, but there were only two other guest staying at the time. Plan to relax and don’t expect large flat screens and pools. They do have Wi-Fi, TV and Jacuzzi tubs in some rooms.

Hotel Zed Victoria

Its a lovely clean hotel , close to shopping centers and a great stop for children with pool and water slide.Ask about there ghost visitor at night , very exciting , not the best parking , Close to many eating spots good food at the restaurant which is in the reception area.

Reasonably priced, great location and friendly staff. The rooms are small but ok. If you’re a couple it is a bit small for two people to circulate at the same time. The bathroom layout can be a little unusual. The toilet and shower are in separate ends of the room, with an open sink area in between. Not a lot of space to unpack and store your luggage. Good for a short stay on a budget if you’re ok with something quirky and different.

We’re a ridiculously fun & eclectic hip hotel in Victoria BC. Hotel ZED was created with an idea of a funky hotel that was actually affordable, right here in our hometown of Victoria, a place that was super cool, kickass, edgy, but totally down-to-earth and not pretentious. Fun, Playful and Approachable.

This was a beautiful hotel to stay at and it was very close to a number of good restaurants and shops. Was happy to stay here and would certainly stay here again. Enjoyed walking around the area as well.

We were celebrating a special occasion and booked the executive corner room it was lovely! Very clean, comfortable bed, fridge, wet bar, couch, nespresso machine, table and chairs, awesome! The staff at the Magnolia are top notch, very attentive and friendly. The continental breakfast was great, homemade yogurt, fruit, pastries, toast, hard boiled eggs etc. all you would want to start out your day. The hotel it self is in an excellent location downtown Victoria within walking distance to everything! I have stayed here a number of times and it is my number one choice in Victoria!

Hotel Rialto Victoria

Great historical hotel with a very warm and receptive staff. You get lots of little goodies like 10% off in the onsite wine store, free cheese platter in the restaurant and free coffee and pastry in the coffee shop. Rooms are a little small but I am not complaining just warning people as it is a historical building. It has a great location right in the middle of downtown Victoria. I will make the Hotel Rialto my go to place to stay in Victoria.

Hotel is ideally located for exploring Victoria. The stay was great, the staff were very pleasant and helpful. They managed to squeeze us into the Tapas restaurant on Valentine’s Day and we had a great meal.

We have stayed in hotels all over the world. The Hotel Rialto in Victoria, BC is now our favorite. We stayed there over the US Thanksgiving weekend 2016. What a wonderful experience. A great room, attentive staff, and a fine restaurant. The location is in downtown Victoria. We had our car but it was not needed because we were able to walk to restaurants and shopping is all around. Bravo, Hotel Rialto!

Great night in room 406. Thanks to Maureen’s attention to detail as it was my girlfriend’s birthday. Great 2 person soaker tub, awesome king size bed. We had brunch in the cafe, and the Benny’s were amazing. Great coffee and location close to everything downtown. Thanks!

Quiet little rooms, located right down town allowing easy access to just about everything. Very clean and great staff. Will def let others know about the great price for quality room. Fresh muffin next morning with rental
