We had a great room on the second floor in the corner of the hotel with a bay window. It was large and comfortable. The hotel is filled with antiques and old photos. It even has it’s own resident ghost!!
The restaurant has amazing food. Breakfast there will keep you going for the entire day! The chef’s evening three course special is well worth the price.
The hotel is within walking distance of the legislative building, inner harbour, and downtown, plus many good small eateries.
Definitely a hotel to try. Just be sure to ask for a room that faces Government Street, not the parking lot or back alley.
This hotel, located a few blocks from the waterfront, is a good base for a walking tour of Victoria. We stayed one night in a “connected room”. We had a queen bed in one room connected through the bathroom to a double bedroom. Mattress was very comfortable in the Queen room. Not fancy, bathroom fittings from the 70’s/80’s, otherwise a plain room. Good wireless coverage.
Victoria heritage hotel boasts an on-site restaurant and a pub. Free Wi-Fi and a cable TV are featured in every guest room. Free parking is available. Select rooms at the James Bay Inn Hotel, Suites & Cottage include a kitchen, a balcony and garden views.
