My relaxing weekend at Hotel Zed was fantastic. I arrived on a stormy Friday in February looking for a place to relax, read, layabout, and generally hide from work. It was great. As a child of the 60’s, I loved the bright colours, the decor touches like a typewriter (it worked! I typed up a postcard), rotary dial phone (my fingers were having a weird flashback of their own), and retro furniture in the lounge. The staff was great. The antique van/shuttle bus is a trip! Bumpy, rickety, drafty … and absolutely perfect! I must confess, I stole a Hotel Zed pencil. The hot fuchsia pink caught my eye, and the tagline “Rebels against the ordinary” just seemed so fitting. A fun, comfortable, well-priced place to stay.
My 10 year old and I stayed here for two nights and it was like living in Austin Powers flat for a holiday! Ping pong lounge with Wii, mini disco room, board games everywhere, comfy room and beds, it was the perfect kid and mommy get away. The pool is outdoors so it was closed but they have this shuttle and driver that took us anywhere we needed to go. His name was Gordon. Kept us safe, was at our beckon call. Just a great experience and would definitely go back.
We’re a ridiculously fun & eclectic hip hotel in Victoria BC. Hotel ZED was created with an idea of a funky hotel that was actually affordable, right here in our hometown of Victoria, a place that was super cool, kickass, edgy, but totally down-to-earth and not pretentious. Fun, Playful and Approachable.
