Hotel Zed Victoria

We were recently stuck in Victoria when the highway was shut down due to an accident. We decided to try Hotel Zed because it was north of city centre. I wasn’t initially impressed with the exterior of the building, but it far surpassed our expectations. There were probably several hundred travellers in the same predicament as ourselves, but rather than capitalizing on the circumstances they offered a special “Malahat Rate” of only $69.00 per night. Yes, this is an old style motel, but it was clean and the beds were comfortable and we loved the retro vibe in the lobby, social area, games room (complete with ping pong tables and Wii station, and the room. Most importantly all of the staff were friendly and efficient. We ate breakfast in the coffee shop and were not disappointed – food was good and plentiful and the great service carried over.

We’re a ridiculously fun & eclectic hip hotel in Victoria BC. Hotel ZED was created with an idea of a funky hotel that was actually affordable, right here in our hometown of Victoria, a place that was super cool, kickass, edgy, but totally down-to-earth and not pretentious. Fun, Playful and Approachable.
