We got there early in the morning and were able to park in their parking lot for free. We walked around downtown, had tea and pastries at Murchie’s, walked to Chinatown, went into many stores and by the time we came back, our room was available. There’s a beautiful tea room at opens at 11 a.m. Can’t beat the location of this mansion. Looking forward to tomorrow’s hot breakfast that’s included. The room has a mini refrigerator, Keurig Coffee maker, a very comfortable bed. My husband is downstairs sitting by the fireplace. We will definitely come back again. BTW: You need to go up stairs. There’s no elevator so if you can’t climb stairs, this is not a place for you.
Historic building. Beautifully decorated interior. A nice selection of sandwiches and sweets. My only critique is that I found the service to be a bit slow considering it was not very busy when I was there. I have been to afternoon tea at several venues in Victoria and know that it is an experience not to be rushed. Even so, the service that day was slow. It may have been just a one off type of thing. I would still go back.
