We, my husband and I, stayed here for one night recently on a shopping and movie dat to Victoria. The hotel had a special rate offered which was too good to pass up. Located right in the Inner Harbour area, the location is excellent- walking distance to restaurants, shops, theatres.
It’s an older hotel, built (I am guessing) in the fifties? And as such the hallways have a slightly musty door, with traces of the smoking days still lingering. Our room was clean and comfortable, slightly noisy as it was right over the bar. No real complaints. Our deal included breakfast in the restaurant, which was good. The bar, where we had happy hour appies and cocktails is also very pleasant, if slightly dated.
I would stay here again, especially at the price we paid ($95 for a king room, including breakfast) we have stayed at many of the neighbouring hotels in this area, and I won’t say this is the best or the nicest, but it’s perfectly fine for a night or two. Good service, good location, good price. What’s not to like?
Rooms have all the modern conveniences, including in-room coffee/tea and some have harbour views and kitchenettes. Downstairs in our lobby we have our terrific Swiftsure Restaurant and Lounge. It is perfectly located in the heart of Victoria, along the breathtaking Inner Harbour.
