Quiet comfortable rooms, clean, professional, and the location was excellent. We walked to dinner each evening, walked down to the waterfront for New Year’s Eve fireworks, short walk to shops. We had a one bedroom suite that was exactly as advertised. The front desk was very friendly and competent. My go to place in Victoria now.

This is an awesome hotel. The staff are very very helpful and nice. They have a shuttle van that will drive you to get your groceries, go downtown go just about anywhere you want. They do have a mile radius to follow. This hotel is very close to the water. Walking distance to the Empress. The legislature grounds are almost next door. My friend and I went in Sept. My husband and I are going to Victoria for a wedding in June and have already booked our rooms. You should get a room with the kitchen it will save big time $$ in restaurant food. Beautiful place. My friend and I are going back in Sept again. You must stay at the Royal Scot.

We stayed in this facility on our Cosmos Coach Tour of The Rockies, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The facility had lift access, a good restaurant, and the service was good. There was a strong hint of Scottish Culture.

The Royal Scot hotel is one block from the Provincial Parliament building. The location is walkable to many tourist attractions and activities; such as Fisherman’s Wharf, Museum, Shopping, Eating and the list goes on. The Royal Scot Hotel and Suites offers full kitchens and the grocery story is about seven walkable blocks away. Hope to one day return to Victoria. Style is definitely 1960’s décor but quality furniture. Staff were very helpful and the hotel was very clean.

No wonder my family keeps coming back. This is a top notch hotel. Very clean. Prices are very good and the location is the best. The restaurant has amazing food for the price. I recommend this hotel and will be back

This is a great hotel!!! We were recommended by friends and were not disappointed. They up graded us to a suite..it was lovely, comfortable, quiet and clean. We walked everywhere, this hotel is perfectly located in downtown Victoria. We will definitely go back!!!!

We’ve been spending a three- or four-day weekend at the Royal Scot every winter for the past several years. We usually get their one bedroom suite.

The furnishings and style never changes. However the rooms and the public areas of the hotel always are kept clean and also fresh looking. Clearly, the rooms get painted often, and the furniture is changed before wear shows in any sort of serious way. Janitorial and housekeeping services are unobtrusive.

The Royal Scot is anything but trendy. Frankly, it’s old fashioned and not really that quaint. However, that said, they do everything right to make you feel comfortable and at ease. The kitchens are very well equipped, to the extent that you can walk the six blocks each way to the nearest fully stocked supermarket, and then do as much of your own cooking as you may wish. (I understand Thrifty Supermarket now has a delivery service to the hotel.)

If you’re arriving on either of the U.S. ferries (the Victoria Clipper or the Coho), it’s only a three minute walk from the dock, over flat ground. The “downtown” area with shops and restaurants begins less than a ten minute walk from the hotel’s front door. In short, the location is as good as it gets. The restaurant off the hotel lobby offers good breakfasts if you don’t care to cook. (We haven’t tried if for lunch or dinner.) If the weather is very bad, the Hotel Grand Pacific has a really good dining room, and it’s directly across the street from the Royal Scot.

All considered, it’s a good choice for a quiet weekend in Victoria.

Ferry to Victoria for a little pre-Christmas trip. Package deal with the Coho ferry including the Royal Scot Hotel, round trip ferry and the Gardens. This hotel is very convenient to central attractions. Our studio suite was roomy. Beds (even the sofa bed) are very comfortable. Kitchen had everything you might need if you’d like to cook in. Hotel is older but extremely clean and well kept. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Hotel features a first come / first served shuttle that will drop you at locations within a pretty large radius, and pick you up again if you like. Excellent breakfast in the hotel restaurant, too. They will store your baggage if you request it. And the hotel is very quiet.

Beautiful suites with two rooms and a kitchenette. Very friendly and informative staff who take the time to make your stay pleasant. Jonathan’s restaurant on site is very good. The property is located in a quiet area just a few blocks from the Blackball ferry line. The Hotel is ideally located withing walking distance to the Parliament Buildings, Empress Hotel and shopping.

This Hotel, whilst not a modern high rise is a very well presented hotel that seems to relax the spirit after 14 days of bus touring. Our room had full facilities, kitchen, and table, lounge and 2 bed rooms.
location was in a quite street close to the harbour and tourist areas.
The hotel facilities , laundry was very reasonably priced there was a lounge area whick was a welcome retreat while waiting for the washing.
They had a courtesy bus which was driven by a very friendly lad who was informative and helpful.

The Royal Scot lives up to its ratings for cleanliness and accessibility. We were part of a West Jet Vacation package and were upgraded to a suite when we arrived. The room was clean and cool with windows that opened to a pleasant breeze and several fans. The pool area was convenient and spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the hot tub and were the only ones who seemed to be using it.

The wife and I travelled to Victoria for the weekend and found this hotel to be perfect for the price and location to downtown and sightseeing, The hotel is old for sure but attempts to upgrade are obvious and it was pleasant enough and comfortable. The blankets in the room however are very odd and at first we thought our bed didnt have the duvet on it. We called the front desk and asked about a duvet or comforter. I was told they where not available to our kind of room. The bedspread they provide is like a hospital blanket and very thin. All the laundry and linens where the same too , i assume they get a good deal on it all. The Hot tub was nor working when we arrived and we where not told at the time of checkin either. We would have gone to a spa type place for a soak if we had know ahead of time, but we didnt find out until we where down in the pool area with our swimming gear on. Never mind. One elevator failed too causing long waits to get access to your room if you had luggage. Not a bad experience in all but the duvet thing was just weird and from the tone of voice and reaction at the front desk its not the first time there has been a query about it.

Interesting and ageing hotel, where it seems all the rooms are suites. Our room had a full kitchen, and a lounge room, but with a bed which took up most of the room. There was also another bedroom, and bathroom. The furniture was very comfortable, but one had to virtually climb over the bed to get from one side of the room to the other. We used one bed for the suitcases, as there was nowhere else to put them. this hotel is centrally located, with an easy walk to downtown and all attractions .

Excellent place to stay. After completing 15 hours of non stop flights from Australia, they looked after us like a dream. Quiet hotel, amazing beds and great block out curtains. We had a great recovery sleep after our flights and the hotel was very central, we could walk to wherever we needed to go. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone.

I stayed here for 4 nights in a group of 12 in late August 2016 . On first night was refused service for 4 in the hotel restaurant at 8:25 ( closing 8:30 pm ) even though 7 of the group were already seated and waiting for main courses . I didn’t put in a written complaint until day 3 which was acted upon by the manager Greg Greene immediately (within 5 minutes). He was very understanding apologetic and annoyed at the treatment we were given by a franchise service in the restaurant . He fully committed to take all necessary steps to ensure that this behaviour would not happen again which I have no doubt he will ensure happens. He provided myself and my wife with a complementary additional night free of charge in an upgraded suite . I have travelled extensively worldwide for over 40 years and I am very impressed by the extremely quick efficient and customer focused response by Greg to a problem that arose .

Super staff and location, location, location. Easy to walk to restaurants and all downtown.
Traditional “English” decor. Only problem no air conditioning.
Restaurant has good food and great service.
Rooms had free wi-fi, desk, TV, refrigerator. Clean and neat.

This hotel is a wonderful place to stay. Mostly suites, comfortable beds, clean and friendly staff. A shuttle bus service is offered which is great for seniors or folks who can’t walk up hills. We walked down to Fisherman’s Warf then called for a ride and in 5 minutes they were there to take us back. This was our second stay and both times we used the shuttle. One could go there without a car and get around the harbour area quite nicely. They have a nice pool and a pool room. The restaraunt for breakfast was good. We crossed the street to the Day’s inn for dinner and had an excellent meal there.

My husband and I travel constantly and are frequently quite jet-lagged. We wanted to book a vacation not far from home where we could relax somewhere quite. The Royal Scott was perfect! The hotel is quiet and small, allowing for excellent service and high-standards of cleanliness. The hotel gave us a free up-grade to our suite due to extra bookings (for some festival) and our suite couldn’t have been nicer, it had a full kitchen and a deck that overlooked the tree-lined entrance. They had even included a welcome basket of snacks and drinks. The concierge was first-class, even arranging a horse-drawn carriage to pick us up outside for a tour of the city. My only dislike was that the decor was somewhat dated and not very attractive, but that is a matter of personal taste. Also, I do NOT recommend eating in the hotel restaurant, the food was a disaster, watery soup, soggy sandwiches, and the choices were very limited (although I believe the hotel does not run the concessions in the restaurant, I believe it is under contract without outside vendors). Other than that, it was a fantastic place to stay.
