Great old victoria mansion, beautiful rock work. Was under reno when there but would go back! Loved the deep tubs and amazing comfy mattress. Staff was accommodating, but wish the bar was open a bit later 🙂

Just attended a wedding here. The Inn is really nice but rather chilly. The mix of traditional decor and modern is rather confusing. Staff are exceptional and I wonder based on the fantastic food provided for the reception why they are not making the most of their dining facilities. The continental breakfast is delicious but sadly no lunch or dinner is available. Heather was very accommodating and ensured we had everything we needed All in all it’s a good choice

The Location and the ambience of the Tudor style manor was wonderful. I enjoyed having the carriage room at the top of the Inn, with the skylight. Comfortable bed, Cable TV, and the good breakfast. I appreciated the stable and reliable wifi.

What an amazing place! The hotel is just beautiful, the room we had was giant and had a beautiful balcony overlooking the gardens. The staff were great and you could spend a lot of time in the gardens. It was a little out of the way, which made finding a nice meal close by difficult (but not impossible!). It would be great if there was a full service restaurant in the hotel.

Was so comfy! Bed was amazing to sleep on, bathroom was huge and nice deep tub! Loved the delux king room. And breaky was good 🙂

Attentive staff: it was very windy that night and I was brought candles in case power went out.

This property was rich in history and had a homey feel… if you consider a miniature Downton Abbey “homey.” The rooms are all well appointed and each have their own individual charm. What I appreciated the most was that the staff were so accommodating, warm, and kind. Firstly Heather was incredible, she made sure all my finicky requests were made as I am celiac and needed help to figure out where I was and where I was going. Heather was very professional and patient with me and my lack of direction. Breakfast was also super delicious. As for dinner there is a collection of menus at the front desk from restaurants that will deliver to you if you don’t feel like leaving the grounds… YUM! Kenan took the time to talk to me about the history of the property and all of it’s notable occupants, he told me about the different rooms and the rich, soirted and beautiful past of the Inn, which as a solo traveller and a person in need of a distraction was a great way to pass the time. Kenan is wonderful and truly an asset to the property! Finally Randy, he was equally as kind and knowledgeable. He took the time to point me in the right direction everytime I got lost.. and like clockwork he was downstairs with my coffee order ready to go the moment I made it downstairs… even though his shift had not started yet. Furthermore, I was in Victoria for a not so happy reason and the Randy took the time to say hello everyone morning and night upon my return. Truly wonderful, scincere, considerate staff…. and based on that alone I will not stay anywhere else in Victoria as long as this property is still open and available. Also if I would have know that such a beautiful property existed I would have had my wedding here! The venue is ideal for a small (60 ish) person, intimate but luxurious wedding. Truly Magnificent!

Beautiful old building. You’re staying in an old manor with a lot of history and gorgeous construction details.

We love the property, it’s like a little English town in the middle of Victoria. Our room was lovely as well, with a view of downtown and the garden. Breakfast was great, English muffins, boiled eggs, fruits,..etc.. The dining room was perfect size. We will stay here again next time we return to Victoria.

One of the more unique places I’ve stayed locally. Spotlessly clean and very quiet. Staff were excellent and “J” was particularly nice to chat with. Beautiful gardens and nice patios make this a place you want to visit.

My husband and i had to fly into Victoria for a medical procedure, which in itself is quite costly. Our flight did not land until 8:30pm so by the time we were able to rent a car and drive to the hotel it was 9:30, but while we were in line at the car rental we received a call from the hotel asking if we were still checking in that evening. They seemed a wee bit put out. When i called to book the room I asked if we could have a late check out again stating that having a medical procedure done and would like time to rest before our flight back home at 6pm the next day. They said they would see what they could do. Fast forward to the next morning. We are leaving to the doctors and again ask about the late check out, again they complain that their cleaning staff leaves by 4pm and the latest we could stay was 2pm which didn’t help as our appointment was at 11:45 and was pushed back as the doctor was running late so we didn’t even make it back to the hotel until 2pm. The hotel itself is beautiful as well as the grounds, we would love to come back and stay, we are in Victoria quite a bit due to the doctors, but their lack of compassion was very disheartening.

We recently spent one night at the English Inn and were impressed with the service, the staff were very friendly, informative and ready to help in any way. We learned that we could order in our dinner from a number of restaurants, pay a delivery charge and eat in the Inn’s dining room! The fire places were great on the rainy day, providing that extra warmth and atmosphere. We were in the Queen Ann room and it was a delightful old room with lots of space and a shared balcony that we used before dinner for a cocktail and a sunset! Because we were using Booking.com and www were Genius status we were offered a free cocktail from their lovely lounge on the main floor. Our Continental breakfast was delicious with fresh baked croissant for everyone

Excellent place just to sit outside and watch the world and people go by. The two waiters are very nice and funny. The drinks are averagely priced but there is a cool beer garden out the back for groups that want to have a few drinks. Sitting out the front was my favourite- some excellent (relaxing) street performers which we really enjoyed.

Our stay in Victoria deserved something out of the ordinary and this certainly fit the bill. A quaint oasis with rooms that each have their own character. The dining room was great for the continental breakfast and they will also set up a table for you if you order dinner in from an area restaurant. The grounds are stunning with a couple of great locations for a wedding. Just a short $15 can ride to the inner harbour.

This English Manor house was built in 1906 and serves as a wonderful place to spend a few nights while just a few minutes from downtown Victoria. Since it is located in a suburban neighbourhood, there are not any restaurants or shops nearby. But aside from that, this is a nice way to have some quiet time away from Traffic Large room with comfortable bed and balcony. Great service and an in-house bar ( no food ). Best in Fall or Spring as there is not any air conditioning, but a small price to pay as Summer temperatures are usually mild. Great neighbourhood to walk around.

My daughter and I stayed here because of the price on a long weekend was better than most hotels. It was a bonus it was close to the military base where our friend was living ( 3 mins drive ). We stayed in a small room up top getting there was up a small staircase. I was told the room was small but it wasn’t, it had a queen bed and two chairs, a fireplace and fair sized bathroom. There is a tea cart with a kettle and tea just like in the UK hotels. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, my friend could join for a small cost but the manager invited him to stay at no cost when we were checking in, such a nice gesture. Views into the garden are worth the stay, staff treat you like a 5 star resort. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone coming to Victoria, you may need a car though. Must Stay!
