Abilgail’s Hotel is a charming place to stay and is within walking distance of the harbor and most of downtown Victoria. Everyone we dealt with there was friendly and helpful, going out of their ways to make our stay pleasant. The breakfasts were delicious and healthy, the food, as much as possible, sourced from Vancouver Island. While not having an elevator might deter some potential guests, the comfortable and clean rooms are definitely worth climbing the stairs. If one is staying in on a rainy day or in the evening, there is a warm and welcoming library room to enjoy. This is a hotel to treasure and to come back to when possible.
